You can look forward to an exciting presentation where Sissel shares her experiences in running startups and provides practical advice on business development. Sissel will discuss her experiences with sales optimization, lead generation, and scaling a business—even without a dedicated sales department. You will learn concrete strategies and tools to strengthen your business and develop your entrepreneurial skills. Overall, you will gain inspiration and practical tools to strengthen your business and pursue your entrepreneurial goals.
Sissel Hansen is the founder of Startup Guide, often described as "The Lonely Planet for entrepreneurs." The first book was published in 2014 and is now available in more than 60+ cities worldwide. Sissel has a background from Kaospiloterne in Aarhus, where she studied for a year from 2014-2015 before dropping out to develop Startup Guide full-time. Since then, she has practiced "Learning by doing" and built Startup Guide into a global business focused on helping entrepreneurs worldwide.
Alongside Startup Guide, Sissel has always been part of various projects. She is a co-founder of Impact the Future, Kaospilot+ Berlin, and Future Club, and has also been part of various panels and boards, including the government’s green entrepreneurship panel, the association for Danish Tech Startups, and Nordhus Fonden.
In 2015, Sissel was recognized as one of Denmark’s promising young leaders as part of Berlingske's Talent 100. In 2018, she was awarded the title of Nordic Ecosystem Hero at the Global Startup Awards and was included on the list of Europe’s most influential women in startups and venture capital by EU-Startups.
Drawing from her experience with startups, Sissel will share her knowledge about Business Development, including how you can grow your business through sales optimization, lead generation, and more—even if you don't yet have a sales department.
