The role
We are a growing pharma company with expanding operations in Europe, and we are now looking for a senior, hands-on Head of Finance to strengthen and future-proof our finance function.
This role carries end-to-end responsibility for accounting, reporting, and financial control across the business. The position is critical to ensuring financial discipline, transparency, and scalability as we grow.
You will play a key role in challenging financial thinking, budgets, and assumptions, and in building a finance setup that can keep pace with a fast-moving, regulated growth environment.
What you will be responsible for
End-to-end accounting ownership
- Full ownership of accounting across entities and countries
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close with a strong focus on quality and speed
- Ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting in line with applicable accounting standards
- Define, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies and processes
Financial control, budgets & insights
- Drive budgeting and forecasting processes together with management
- Actively challenge cost structures, assumptions, and financial models
- Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to leadership
- Strengthen cash flow management, cost control, and margin transparency
Governance in a scaling environment
- Ensure tax, VAT, and statutory compliance across multiple European jurisdictions
- Own audit processes and manage relationships with external auditors and advisors
- Build pragmatic but robust internal controls suitable for a growing pharma company
- Strengthen cash flow management, cost control, and margin transparency
People leadership & collaboration
- Direct people management responsibility for a Finance Manager and a Financial Analyst
- Set direction, priorities, and quality standards for the finance and accounting function
- Act as senior financial sparring partner to the Finance Manager and leadership team
- Develop and scale the finance organization in line with company growth
- Work closely with commercial, operations, and supply chain teams
- Be comfortable "getting your hands dirty" while also setting direction
Who we are looking for
Your experience
- Significant experience in senior accounting or controlling roles (e.g. Head of Accounting, Accounting Manager, Senior Financial Controller)
- Strong technical accounting and reporting background
- Experience from pharma, life sciences, or another regulated industry is a plus
- Used to working in smaller or mid-sized companies where structure is evolving
- Experience in international or multi-entity setups
